What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses multiple “micro- needles” to penetrate the skin to
create micro channels. These micro channels stimulate the bodies healing process which sends the
collagen and elastin to the surface. Although the needles are stimulating the healing process in the
body, this does not cause cell damage. Rather, it benefits skin texture, acne scars, surgical scars,
improving the appearance of pores, fine lines, wrinkles and more.

How to prepare for the treatment?
 It is important to avoid sun exposure before the microneedling treatment. When the skin is
irritated it will overstimulate the skin and could cause an adverse reaction.
 Before the procedure, clean your skin of any makeup and debris
 Discontinue using exfoliating products such as retinol, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, or AHA’s
 Contact your provider if you are on autoimmune therapies
What to expect for after the treatment?
Directly after microneedling, the epidermis may show erythema (redness) and edema (inflammation.)
Products will be provided to help speed up the cell turn-over and irritation and to help hydrate the
epidermis. It is important to avoid anything that can cause bacteria to spread to the treatment location.
This includes, but is not limited to, sweating, exercise, swimming, hot tubs, saunas, unlearn pillow cases,
etc.

Does microneedling hurt?
Before the microneedling treatment, the client will be numbed with a topical numbing cream. This will
cause the treatment to feel like a light exfoliation, with no pain.

When will results be seen?
Collagen production takes about 4 weeks to 6 months until it can be seen! This means, although you will
see plump and bright skin skin two weeks after the treatment there is more to come! The true results
will appear no later then 6 months after the treatment date! Patience is key.
